Emailing Prescriptions - Waiver inclusion

To fully satisfy the requirements from the Ministry of Health for the ability to email unsigned prescriptions to the pharmacy, you need to include the following waiver statement on the prescription:

"This Prescription meets the requirement of the Director-General of Health’s waiver of March 2020 for prescriptions not signed personally by a prescriber with their usual signature."

This article provides you with a short-term work-around to allow you to email prescriptions from SPM, while the full electronic prescribing module is completed and approved for integration with the Connected Health network.  As we only provide software for specialists we were not included in correspondence to GP software providers relating to the Electronic Prescription Service.

Email 'Phishing' alert

The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) are warning of phishing emails that are pretending to be sent from MBIE.

Quoting from MBIE's website:

"The phishing emails use MBIE branding and currently include ‘Complaint Case’ at the beginning of the subject line. They encourage the recipient to open an attached PDF. When this document is opened, the malicious software is downloaded onto the recipient's computer."

Update 408.4 of SPM/PHM is now available.

Update 408.4 is now available for both the 'Specialist Practice Manager' (SPM) and 'Private Hospital Manager' (PHM) applications.

This release requires you to install the update on each workstation or server as there are some additional Windows supporting files that are required.
