Medicare Online is currently down - 3001: Communication error

A number of sites are experiencing issues when trying to verify patients or submit online claims.  The following error is being reported.

3001: Communication error. Check that you have a current internet session. For further assistance contact the Medicare eBusiness Service Centre.

The Medicare site is not currently reporting a fault.

Changes to (ACC) Elective Surgery Services contract and further information

Many of you have been receiving emails from ACC about changes to the Elective Surgery Services contract which take effect from 1 February 2022.

As a reminder, the changes are as follows:

  • the H1 classification used in surgery requests (as set out in the ESS contract) will change from 'Deteriorating Condition' to Clinically Urgent'
  • the removal of prior approval for 37 elective surgery codes.

The removal of prior approval means you no longer need to complete or submit an Assessment Report

Medicare & Health Funds updated schedules - Jan 2022

Medicare and some of the Health Funds have updated their schedules since 1 January 2022.

A list of the Health Funds that are available to use in the Incisive application, with the date of their latest fee schedule, is available from this link.  The list of Medicare items that have been added or modified is available from this link .

Note that importing the Medicare & Health Fund fee schedules will not adjust the fees that each doctor chooses to charge.

Update 410.2 is now available for the Incisive SPM & PHM applications

Update 410.2 is now available for both the 'Specialist Practice Manager' (SPM) and 'Private Hospital Manager' (PHM) applications.

This version does require that you have the Microsoft .NET 4.8 Framework installed on your computers so please make sure that you have all the latest Windows updates installed or download and install the 4.8 Framework separately.
