Emails being rejected

If you are experiencing some of your emails being rejected by the receiving email server it is probable that you have not elevated your send-email settings to use the TLS security protocol which will encrypt your out-going emails.  Many email servers will reject emails that are not encrypted.

Changes to Privacy Act 2020

Changes to the Privacy Act 2020 in New Zealand are due to come in force on the 1st December.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner has published a update to the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 which is available from https://www.privacy.org.nz/assets/Codes-of-Practice-2020/Health-Information-Privacy-Code-2020-website-version.pdf

They have also provided an Information Paper on the changes to the HIPC 2020

Maternity Services fees - Section 88

Incisive are expecting a 2.18% increase in the fees for the Primary Maternity Services Amendment Notice 2020.

Whilst the Notice is still in 'Draft' mode on the Ministry of Health's website, it is meant to be commenced on the 1st July so if you are wanting to start claiming using the fee schedule included in the Notice, please get in touch with the Incisive Helpdesk so we are able to provide you with the necessary

Emailing Prescriptions - Waiver inclusion

To fully satisfy the requirements from the Ministry of Health for the ability to email unsigned prescriptions to the pharmacy, you need to include the following waiver statement on the prescription:

"This Prescription meets the requirement of the Director-General of Health’s waiver of March 2020 for prescriptions not signed personally by a prescriber with their usual signature."

This article provides you with a short-term work-around to allow you to email prescriptions from SPM, while the full electronic prescribing module is completed and approved for integration with the Connected Health network.  As we only provide software for specialists we were not included in correspondence to GP software providers relating to the Electronic Prescription Service.
