Secure Messaging available in next release of SPM
Posted by Sinclair Hughes on 01 October 2020 10:04 AM

Incisive are very pleased to announce the imminent release of new capability in the 'Specialist Practice Manager' application, for Australian clients, that provides functions that are part of the Secure Messaging initiative of the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA).

The new capabilities will allow:

  • enhanced searching across multiple secure messaging providers using a linked Provider directory service
  • interoperability and message exchange with different secure messaging provider and practice applications
  • the ability to securely exchange messages based on current and future Australian encryption standard.

One of the main benefits will be that you will not have to use the fax system to send out letters to the majority of your recipients as it is very likely that they are using practice management systems that also include the Secure Messaging functionality.  It is, however, possible that there will still be some practices who will require to have faxes sent to them.

Other benefits are that you will have an online Provider lookup option when adding or checking Provider details and also the knowledge that the recipient will be able to receive an view the content of your correspondence, no matter which type of practice software they use.  This will be especially useful when replying to allied health providers such as Physiotherapists and Occupational Health nurses.

Incisive have integrated the Secure Messaging functions into SPM so that it will allow you to continue to work as you currently do.  We will be providing training material with the update and Incisive staff will be available to provide direct assistance if required.

These new features will be included in release v409.6 which is expected to be available later this month.

If you are using the inTOUCH application we are also in the process of enabling the Secure Messaging capability in it so you can send or receive correspondence while away from the rooms.  We will be providing you with additional information about this in the near future.
