This option should be used if the patient has been seen for a consultation where no charge is to be made (perhaps to a colleague or a follow up consultation after an operation). This will prevent any reminders about charging the patient that may be triggered as a result of a consultation or operation note being entered onto the patients file (or appointment book entry) after an invoice has been printed.
If a patient surcharge is normally made over and above a schedule charge (eg ACC) and for a particular patient you decide not to apply the surcharge, then you should use this no charge option as well, so that no reminders to charge are triggered.
To enter a 'No Charge'
- Select 'No' Charge from the 'Select Financial Option(s)' screen.
- Enter the date of the visit the 'No Charge' is for.
- Select 'OK'.
No Charge is written onto the patient's financial record for the appropriate date.
