Stock ItemsStock Items are the actual stock items or services that could be used or consumed during a patient's stay at the hospital. These items will normally be allocated to a patient via the 'Stock Used' tab in the Patient module, or otherwise entered against a Cost Centre. To clarify the options available for the different types of stock or services, the stock types have been broken down to:
SearchIf you want to search for a particular stock item but are not sure of the code or category you can enter in any part of the code or description and the list will automatically display the search results.
Use wildcard symbols ( * or ? ) to extend your search options. For example, staple* would find all words that start with the letters before the asterisk (staple), and will include any text after the word, likes 'staples' or 'stapler'. You can use the asterisk before or after the text. But search using just the word 'Staple' will find Staple but not Staples or Stapler DeletedIf a stock item has been deleted it hasn't actually been completely removed, it has just been hidden. Select the 'Show Deleted' option to display all stock items in the database. New - Create a new stock or service item Edit - Modify an existing stock or service item. Delete - Delete an existing stock or service item. (Actually just hides it) Undelete by displaying the 'Deleted' items, highlight the item to be restored then press 'Delete' again (I know - it's odd) If the undeleted code is being used a new code will be allocated to the item. Print a list of all the items in the Category selected Consol. Consolidate two items into one. The consolidated item will lose all its history records. Items with Stock-On-Hand cannot be consolidated. Label Print a barcode label for the selected item. Requires a font called Code39.ttf The font Code39.ttf must be installed, which is available in the program directory. There is a utility program called StockExport.exe which will export all stock items, including the barcode field, into a csv file. This could be used to create barcode labels for multiple items. It is not distributed. It was built for hand-held stock-take devices. Copy - Create a copy of the selected item. |
