You can choose the category Types and individual Categories that are allowed to participate with Variable Pricing.

If a Category isn’t chosen for Variable Pricing and an Item in that category has a Margin pricing type, it will just use the SYSTEM margins irrespective of the Billing Type used for invoicing.

Often you may only be using Variable Pricing for Items in the Material category type.

Then choose the individual Categories you want the Variable Pricing to be effective for.

The categories can also be selected from SpmConfig > Inventory
