Adding a new Provider Number

For Medicare purposes, for each location where a service is provided, a provider number is required. The Incisive application will default to use the Provider Number for the location that is selected when logging in. Alternatively, a different Service Location can be selected at the time of charging for services. The Provider Number for the location the service was provided at, will print on invoices, receipts and Medicare Claims.

To add Provider Numbers:

  • Setup – User (Provider) - Numbers

Ensure you have the correct Provider selected before adding or changing any existing entries.
If the Location and Provider Number are not already in the list:

  1. Select New.
  2. From the drop down list of locations, select the location you are adding the Provider Number for.
  3. Enter a valid Provider Number as provided by Medicare.
  4. If the Provider is a Local Medical Officer at this location, tick this field, otherwise leave blank.
  5. Select OK to save the entry.
